Bastian Obermayer (born 1977) is a German journalist for the investigative unit of the Munich-based newspaper, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and an author.[1]
Bastian Obermayer was born in 1977, and studied Politics, History and American Studies as well as Journalism at the Deutsche Journalistenschule in Munich.[2]
Obermayer was the first person contacted by the anonymous source who leaked the Panama Papers.[3][4][5][6]

Awards and honours
Obermayer has received the Theodor Wolff Prize in 2009, the Henri Nannen Prize in 2010 and the Helmut Schmidt Prize in 2013.[1]
