The Battle of Benina Airport was a battle of the Libyan Civil War of 2014. It was fought in May and July 2014 between the Islamist Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries (supported by the LROR and Misrata Brigades), who attempted to Capture the Airport, and the Libyan Army.
this attempt proved to be Disastrous for the Shura Council, as they suffered a significant death toll among their ranks, including Mohamed Al-Zahawi, the leader of the Allied Ansar Al-Sharia Militant Group, this battle allowed the Libyan National Army to Counter attack the militants, resulting in the Fourth Battle of Benghazi.
