The Battle of Goa was a naval engagement between the Portuguese forces commanded by the Viceroy of Portuguese India, D. Pedro da Silva, and a large Dutch fleet sent to block the port colony of Goa.

While the Portuguese were commanded by Pedro da Silva and António Teles de Meneses, the Dutch were led by Admiral Adam Westerwolt, who was badly defeated at this encounter.
