The Sikh leader, Banda Singh Bahadur, had taken a defensive position at Gurdas Nangal. Mughal General, Abdus-Samad Khan as well as Qamr-ud-Din Khan deployed an army to take on the Sikhs. Eventually the Sikhs would surrender and the Mughals came out victorious.[1]
