The Battle of Harar was an that was part of the Ethio-Somali War. The battle took place at October 1977, and was fought near Harar, Ethiopia. The Soviet advisers and Cuban soldiers took part in the supporting role during the battle. Though the Somali forces reached the city outskirts by November, they were too exhausted to take the city and eventually had to withdraw to await the Ethiopian counterattack which would eventually take place in February 1978.
