The Battle of the Pine was a military engagement during the Cyprus Emergency. A team of EOKA guerillas ambushed a British patrol of two armoured vehicles on the road from Kyperounda to Chandria.[1]

One day later British troops shot dead a Cypriot in the same area.[2]

The violence around this time helped lead to the declaration of a State of Emergency on the island.[3]
