Batu Lanchang is a suburb of George Town, Penang, near Jelutong. The original area of Batu Lanchang covers between Air Itam and Jelutong. The residential neighbourhoods, namely Green Lane, Island Park and Island Glades are located within Batu Lanchang. Today, it covers two areas, that is surrounding Lorong Batu Lanchang (Batu Lanchang Lane) and Jalan Tan Sri Lim Chwee Leong (Batu Lanchang Road). It has a big market known as Batu Lanchang Market, food court, a small shopping complex and it is the location of Lam Wah Ee Hospital. Also located within Batu Lanchang are Batu Lanchang Hokkien Cemetery, Batu Lanchang Hindu Cemetery and schools which include SMK Georgetown, SM Vokasional Batu Lanchang, SM Teknik Batu Lanchang and SK Batu Lanchang, SJKC Jelutong and Olympia College.[1]
