Baum und Pferdgarten

Baum und Pferdgarten is a Danish fashion house.

Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave began designing their collections as newly graduated designers in the diverse and pulsating part of Copenhagen called Nørrebro. Today their office is situated in Vognmagergade in central Copenhagen, which is also the location of the Baum und Pferdgarten flagship store which opened in February 2010. The interior of the shop was created by the designers together with, amongst others “Femmes Regionales”[1] and “all the way to paris”.[2]

Currently Baum und Pferdgarten is available in more than 20 countries worldwide and leading boutiques and department stores offer the collections to women in metropolises like Copenhagen, London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

In 2009 the company experienced economical difficulties but survived due to the investment of Bruuns Bazaar A/S who became majority shareholder.[3]

Style

The creative manifest of Baum und Pferdgarten is to differ from the masses both in design and in process. The designer duo is known for not compromising on quality or esthetics–the high quality is reflected in both the fabrics as well as in the attention to detail and craftsmanship in the manufacturing.

The collections from Baum und Pferdgarten give women an opportunity to express themselves individually by offering a combination of a classic styles and avant-garde pieces which can be mixed accordingly to the individual taste or occasion. Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave like to approach their designs with a touch of irony and humor–and hence their signature is somewhere in between harmony and quirky playfulness.
