Bayou Bucks
Bayou Bucks is a deer hunting DVD series that is filmed entirely throughout Louisiana.
Bayou Bucks: Season I
The first installment, Season I, was filmed during the 2006-2007 hunting season by producer Jason Aycock and released for sale during the 2008-2009 hunting season . Critics consider Bayou Bucks unique because it features ordinary hunters with no television experience, portrayed in a documentary film style format not common in typical hunting videos . Aside from the video series, Bayou Bucks is also known for its internet web site bayoubucks.com , which has quickly developed into an interactive online community for Louisiana-based hunters. On October 17, 2008, the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association awarded Jason Aycock with the 1st Place honor of Excellence in Craft within the Electronic Media Category for his production of Bayou Bucks.
Bayou Bucks: Season II
The second installment of Bayou Bucks will be in production throughout the fall of 2008 and 2009, and is scheduled to be released during the fall of 2010. As with Season I, all of the footage is being filmed in Louisiana and will feature ordinary people hunting their own particular styles and locations . Unlike Season I which is for sale predominantly in Louisiana, the second season of Bayou Bucks will be available commercially throughout the entire United States, with a goal of bringing the Louisiana style of hunting and hunters to the rest of the country’s living rooms.
About Bayou Bucks’ Producer
Bayou Bucks was first conceptualized in 2003 by avid deer hunter Jason Aycock, a Southeastern Louisiana University marketing student, who at the time grew weary of the generic lineup of hunting videos being produced . Unable to find any hunting videos to his liking, Aycock sought the knowledge to produce his own video, and worked his way up the ranks part-time at The Southeastern Channel under Emmy Award winning mentor Rick Settoon. Throughout his tenure as graduate assistant at The Southeastern Channel, Aycock learned the art of video production, and graduated SLU in December 2006 with his Masters Degree in Business Administration. Immediately thereafter, he purchased a broadcast production package and editing suite, pursuing production of Bayou Bucks full-time that hunting season.
