Beacher Ferrel Hackney

Beacher Ferrel Hackney (10 February 1950 – 2009?) was suspected of committing murder at Hot Springs, Virginia in 2009.

Employed as a janitor at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, he was the suspect in the murder of his two supervisors, Dwight Kerr and Ronnie Stinnett, on March 21, 2009. CCTV footage showed Hackney leaving the scene of the murders with a gun in his hand.[1] He was added to the United States Marshals Service 15 most-wanted Fugitives on July 7, 2011. He was described as a neat-freak, a loner, and an outdoors man who made fishing poles for himself.[1][2]

Death

On September 2, 2012, a body was found seven miles from the resort where the murders took place. Hackney's wallet and glasses, as well as a .380 semi-automatic handgun, ammunition and a man's watch, were found with the body. DNA profiling confirmed it was Hackney. The bones had been scattered by animals and had likely been there for some time, possibly since the day of the murders. Due to the state of the remains, the cause of death may never be determined.[2][3]
