Beau Flynn is an American film producer. He is known for producing large commercial films such as San Andreas, Hercules and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, as well as critically acclaimed independent films like Requiem For A Dream and Tigerland. He has been married to film actress Marley Shelton since 2001 and they have two daughters.
Career
Beau Flynn has been producing feature films for over 18 years. He now owns and operates FlynnPictureCo, where he produces high concept, franchise and genre projects across all media platforms. Over the course of his career, Beau Flynn has produced over 30 films that have earned more than $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office.
Flynn’s most recent release San Andreas, stars Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino and is directed by Brad Peyton. The 3D disaster film written by Carlton Cuse is based on Flynn’s original idea and was released by Warner Bros. worldwide on May 29, 2015.
Prior to that, Flynn released Hercules, for MGM and Paramount, with Dwayne Johnson starring in the titular role. Brett Ratner directed and Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the screenplay. It is based on the Radical comic book property, “Hercules: The Thracian Wars.”
Flynn also currently has the Black List title Two Night Stand available on Video on Demand, which was released simultaneously in theatres by eOne. To date, the film is eOne’s most successful release. The film was independently financed and produced and stars Miles Teller and Analeigh Tipton. Max Nichols made his feature directorial debut on a script by Mark Hammer.
Flynn produced Solace, which is currently in theaters around the world.
Future projects
On May 29, 2013, 20th Century Fox acquired Ben Mezrich's book Seven Wonders for a trilogy. Flynn and Brett Ratner produced the film through their different companies.[1] On June 5, 2013, Universal Pictures acquired the remake rights to the 2007 anime Vexille which Flynn would be producing along with Vinson.[2] On September 19, 2014, New Line set Flynn to produce the crime thriller North Of Reno written by Banipal and Benhur Ablakhad.[3]
Flynn Picture Company
On August 22, 2011, after starting his company, Flynn Picture Company, Flynn again signed on with the New Line for a two-year first-look deal. He agreed to continue to produce big concept studio films.[4] FlynnPictureCo's staff includes Vice President Wendy Jacobson, Director of Development Scott Sheldon, and Story Editor Jeremy Mittleman.
Personal life
Flynn met film actress Marley Shelton on the set of Bubble Boy in 2000, and the two married in July 2001.[5] Their first daughter, West Flynn, was born on September 6, 2009.[6] Ruby Jeanne Flynn, their second daughter, was born on May 1, 2012.[7][8][9]
