Beaufortia interstans is a plant in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae and is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. It is a shrub growing to a height of about 1.5 metres (5 ft).

Beaufortia interstans has pink to purple or red flowers arranged in heads on the ends of its branches. The flowers have 5 sepals, 5 petals and 5 bundles of stamens. Flowering occurs between July and December or in January or February and is followed by fruits which are woody capsules.[2]

Beaufortia interstans was first formally described in 1876 by Victorian government botanist Ferdinand von Mueller in Fragmenta phytographiae Australiae.[1][3] The specific epithet (interstans) is derived from the Latin inter- meaning "in between" and stans meaning "to stand upright".[4]

Beaufortia interstans occurs in the Avon Wheatbelt, Coolgardie, Geraldton Sandplains, Jarrah Forest and Mallee biogeographic regions.[2] It grows in sandy soil over laterite[5] and is classified as "not threatened" by the Western Australian government Department of Parks and Wildlife.[2]
