Begging is a 2013 song by Swedish singer Anton Ewald.[4][5] Written by Fredrik Kempe and Anton Malmberg Hård af Segerstad, it was performed in Melodifestivalen 2013 in the second semi-final was held on 9 February 2013 in Scandinavium, Gothenburg. Finishing 3rd/4th, it went on to the Second Chance round, where it passed through to the Melodifestivalen final after a duel with Behrang Miri and his song "Jalla Dansa Sawa". In the finals, it finished fourth in the rankings failing to qualify to 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.

Despite this, the song gained popularity with the Swedish public and the single was released immediately after the competition reaching number 2 on Sverigetopplistan, the official Swedish Singles Chart.

Critical reception

The song's reviews were mixed. With 5 reviews from the Wiwibloggs, "Begging" received an average of 6.1 out of 10, the fifth highest score at the final of Melodifestivalen. Deban gave the song a rate of 7, criticized the dancers, said that the song has a good chorus but most of it is autotuned and noted that the song inspired by Eric Saade. HK Dick gave the song a rate of 7 and hoped to see Ewald back in next year's competition. Mr Häggkvist gave the song a rate of 6.5, stated that Ewald needed more experience and shouldn't try to be the next Eric Saade. Vebooboo gave the song a rate of 5, criticized Ewald's hair during the performance and the song was labeled as solid pop song. Wiwi gave the song a rate of 5, stated that Ewald would be screwed without the dancing and criticized Ewald's appearance.[6]
