Behind the Walls of Imagination is an album by new age artist Eloy Fritsch, known for his work in progressive rock group Apocalypse. It is a spiritually charged, powerful instrumental album that maintains a reverent sense of wonder throughout, sort of like the title implies. It can be considered a definitive crossover disc stradding cosmic new age, electronic, and progressive. The music is composed and arranged by Eloy Fritsch, who performed all synthesizers and percussion instruments. All is very melodic and emotive, with multi-layered instrumental textures/voicings and solid, coherent arrangements. Fritsch mixes fanfares and percussive lead lines to lend his dreamy melodies a rockier edge. The opening "Overture" is a romping symphonic workout, while "Quasar" and "Centaur" are decidedly in the electronic prog-rock category.
