Bella Notte (Italian for "Beautiful Night") is a song for the 1955 animated motion picture Lady and the Tramp (Walt Disney Productions). The music is by Sonny Burke and the lyrics are by Peggy Lee. The song was performed in the film by George Givot,[1] who also provided the voice of Tony. The vocalist in the subsequent Disneyland record album, and with whom the song is most closely identified, is Bob Grabeau.
While originally being an Italian love song, the song also has become known as a Christmas song, since the film Lady and the Tramp incorporates Christmas themes. This is particularly the case in Sweden because scenes from the same film are featured in Kalle Anka och hans vänner önskar God Jul, performed by Carl-Erik Thambert.
Siw Malmkvist recorded the song in Swedish, releasing it on a record in February 1956.[2] The song has also been recorded by Vikingarna on the 1979 album Vikingarnas julparty[3] and Christer Sjögren himself on the 1994 Christmas album När ljusen ska tändas därhemma.[4]
