Bellevue Downtown station

Bellevue Downtown Station will be an underground Sound Transit East Link light rail station in the city of Bellevue, Washington. It is expected to open along with the section of the line to Overlake in 2023. It is also the location of the current Bellevue Transit Center, a multi-use hub for public transportation for Eastern King County.

Location

Bellevue Downtown Station will be in or adjacent to a tunnel underneath 110th Ave NE in Downtown Bellevue, near the existing Bellevue Transit Center.[1] The precise station location, orientation, and access points remain the subject of considerable controversy. The ballot measure that approved East Link in 2008 only included money for the Downtown Bellevue portion of the route to be at-grade, so external funding sources would have to pay for the tunnel, which would cost approximately $500 million more than the at-grade option.[2]

The current transit center is located between NE 108th St and NE 110th St at NE 6th St in Downtown Bellevue. [3]

Services

As of March 2016, Bellevue Transit Center is served by 12 King County Metro routes and 8 Sound Transit routes, with local and county-wide connections across the Puget Sound Area. Additionally, the facility offers bicycle racks, rider services, ORCA Card vending machines, and a kiss-and-ride passenger drop-off area.
