Belzberg Architects is an architecture firm locating in the City of Santa Monica, California. The firm was founded by Hagy Belzberg. The firm has won many national and international awards. The firm's work includes residential, commercial and institutional work.

Exhibitions

In 2007, the Association for Computer-Aided Design in Architecture, Canada featured their work at the Expanding Bodies Conference. As a result, their research and built work was featured in and on the cover of the book Innovation in Building Design + Manufacturing.

In the summer of 2013, Hagy Belzberg and Belzberg Architects has been selected to exhibit work at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles's "A New Sculpturalism, Contemporary Architecture from Southern California"...[1][2]

Founder

Hagy Belzberg received his Masters of Architecture with Distinction from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He has been honored by the American Institute of Architects California Council as an Emerging Talent. Since 1994, Hagy has held Graduate and Undergraduate level instructorship and lecture positions at UCLA, USC and The Southern California Institute of Architecture.[3] In 2010 Hagy Belzberg was elected to The College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects for "notable contributions to the advancement of the profession of architecture".[4]

Projects

In 2002, Belzberg Architects was awarded the contract to design 12,000 sq ft of the interior space in the Walt Disney Concert Hall, where they utilized digital machining and pre-fabrication strategies to work within the existing complex structure[5][6][7]

Belzberg Architects earned more than 35 state, national and local design awards including over 15 from the American Institute of Architects.[11][12][13] Their work has been featured in over 200 publications throughout more than 25 countries including features in Architectural Record, Interior Design, the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times. In addition, Belzberg Architects has received two Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Committee Design Honor Awards. The Urban Land Institute recognized their design work and their contribution to excellence in urban planning. The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture recognized several of their projects with American Architecture Awards. In 2008 Belzberg Architects won the prestigious designation of "Emerging Voice" by the Architectural League of New York.[11][14][15]
