Benjamin "Ben" Lorton Crompton (born 1974 in Stockport, Cheshire or Greater Manchester) is an English actor,[1] best known as one of the stars of the BBC sketch show Man Stroke Woman and Eddison Tollett in the HBO series Game of Thrones.[2] In addition he appeared as Colin in the BBC Three sitcom Ideal[3] with Johnny Vegas.

Career

He is a former member of Youth Unlimited Theatre Group.[1]

He appeared in the 2002 film All or Nothing, the TV series Clocking Off, and the TV movie Housewife, 49. He also had a part in 102 Dalmatians as Ewan. Then he went on to play Keith in the BBC Three series Pramface from 2012 until the end of its third series in 2014. In 2011 he appeared as William Nutt in the television film The Suspicions of Mr Whicher for ITV. In 2012, he appeared in the film Blood.

On 9 August 2011, George R. R. Martin confirmed on his blog that Crompton was cast in the recurring role of Eddison Tollett (aka Dolorous Edd) – a brother of the Night's Watch in Season 2 of Game of Thrones television series.[4] Crompton has played Eddison Tollett in seasons 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Game of Thrones.[5]

In 2014 he appeared as a ship's officer in the second episode of series 8 of the revived Doctor Who television series, Into the Dalek. Also he has recently appeared in the 2014 ITV Drama The Great Fire playing character "Mr. Bagwell".
