Ben Rider (born Benjamin A Rider,[1] February 1992 [2]) is an independent filmmaker working in the United Kingdom.

He spent most of his childhood travelling around, living in South Africa and Israel.[3] In 2013, whilst studying in Queen Mary University of London,[4] he completed his first short film Aquarius' Mule, starring Julia Papp.[5]

Following that he focused on his first feature film, To Love Somebody,[6] which completed post production during his final year in university. The film would later on enter into a legal dispute following a copyright infringement complication with one of the film's performers who leaked some scenes from the film; resulting in its delayed release in 2014.[7] Once To Love Somebody was finally released, it received two nominations from Maverick Movie Awards for Best Cinematography and Best Supporting Actress [8] and won an Award of Merit for the feature film and film direction categories at Indie Fest.[9]

After completing his studies in 2013, he went on to shoot his second feature, Seven Devils,[10] which has recently won the Silver Screen award at Nevada International Film Festival,[11] and five awards at the Accolade Competition Film Awards including Best Supporting Actor for Cornelius Geaney Jr and Best Supporting Actress of Julia Papp;[12]

He has recently completed post production on the yet to be released drama Forever Tomorrow,[1] and is currently editing More Strange Than True, a surrealist comedy adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.[13]
