Ben Salter

Ben Salter is an Australian musician, born 23 March 1977.

He is a member of Giants of Science, the Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers and The Young Liberals.[1] He has released two solo albums, The Cat (2011) and The Stars My Destination (2015).

Solo career

Ben has played hundreds of shows around the world as a solo artist. In 2012 he travelled for 5 months around Europe collaborating with as many songwriters and artists as possible. Playing shows in places such as Spain, Italy, Germany and Iceland. From that extensive tour he was inspired to release his European Tour EP.[2]

As a solo artist he has supported many musicians such as Something for Kate, Violent Femmes, Augie March and Tim Rogers.

Ben won the 2012 album of the year for The Cat at the Queensland music awards.[3] The album was recorded and produced with Gareth Liddiard and Robert F. Cranny.[4][5]

On 23 June 2014 he was invited to perform at the APRA Awards (Australia).

2015 saw the release of a new LP The Stars My Destination through ABC Music.[6] The album was met with warm critical acclaim.
