Ben Severson is a pioneer and true legend in the sport of bodyboarding and Sandy Beach local.[1] Along with fellow bodyboarder Mike Stewart, Severson pioneered surfing Teahupo'o in the late 1980s.[2][3] This location has since gone on to become a premier global big-wave surfing destination on the WSL circuit. Severson was the 1986 world bodyboarding champion.[4]
