Wicomico County Public Schools
Wicomico County Public Schools is the public school district in Wicomico County, Maryland. In July 2009, WCPS had 25 schools, consisting of 16 elementary, 1 elementary/middle, 3 middle, 1 middle/high and 4 high schools.[1] The district had 14,633 students and more than 3,000 employees, including 1,232 certified teachers.[2] It is the largest school district on the Eastern Shore.
Ethnicity of the district in 2009 was 55.4% White, 36.9% African American, 4.4% Hispanic, 3.1% Asian, and 0.15% American Indian. The graduation rate was 78.7% and drop out rate was 3.3%.
