Bert Holcroft was an English rugby league player from the 1950s.
Born and bred in Cameron Street, Leigh, Greater Manchester, Bert Holcroft was a rugby league footballer for the Wigan Road Working Men's R.L.F.C. and the Leigh rugby league club between 1950-60. After a long career playing rugby league, Holcroft left England in 1960 and moved to Sydney as a rugby league coach. He coached Eastern Suburbs first grade for two years in the mid 1960s, during an unsuccessful period in the club's history. Later, Bert Holcroft wrote extensively about rugby league coaching, and authored a number of books on the subject of coaching.[1]
