BetterWorks provides enterprise software for companies to manage strategic plans, collaborative goals and ongoing performance conversations.[7] Its Business Operating System is built on Goal Science insights and operational research to help companies execute more effectively.

The BetterWorks enterprise goals platform debuted in September 2014 with a public announcement about the solution’s capabilities and a $15.5 million Series A round from venture firms.[8][9] In March 2016, the company announced that it had raised another $20 million in Series B funding.[10]

BetterWorks is part of the Salesforce Analytics Cloud Ecosystem, which provides instant access to enterprise goals data.[11] BetterWorks has also designed its enterprise app to be one of the first for Apple Watch.[12] VentureBeat named BetterWorks one of 19 startups "ready to blast off in 2015"[13] and Inc. wrote that BetterWorks was one of six “incredibly thought-provoking tech innovations” at the 2015 South by Southwest Conference.[14]

BetterWorks is headquartered in Redwood City, California, with an office in New York City. It is privately held and backed by venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Formation 8.

The company was co-founded by Kris Duggan, former CEO and founder of Badgeville, along with BetterWorks engineering lead Di Wu. Prior to Badgeville, Duggan held leadership roles at a variety of SaaS companies, including WebEx. Previously, Wu was at Palantir Technologies.[15]
