Education

Rabbi Busel was educated in his father’s Yeshiva high school in Edison, New Jersey. He then went to Brooklyn, New York to learn in the Mir yeshiva, where he joined the Chaburah (study group) of his uncle, Rabbi Elya Meir Sorotzkin. After Mir, Betzalel went to Eretz Israel (Israel) to learn at the Yeshivas Brisk, where he studied under Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik.

Career

Rabbi Busel is the current Rosh Yeshiva (Dean) of Yeshivah Torah Temimah.[1] He took the position in 2014. Previously, he was Shoiel Umeishiv (study guidance teacher) at his father’s yeshiva, and then a Rosh Kollel (dean of a kolel, a place where married men continue their education without the intention of learning to serve in the rabbinate) in Riverdale, New York. The kolel there is associated with the Telshe Alumni yeshivah in Riverdale. The dean of the Riverdale yeshiva is Rabbi Busel’s father in law, Rabbi Avremel Ausband.

Accomplishments

Rabbi Busel is the author of three published sefarim (Hebrew scholarly works), as well as a few printed but unpublished essays on a variety of topics in Talmudic study. His sefer on the subject of Shtarois (Jewish contracts) entitled “Mishkan Betzalel” is a classic guide for people learning that complex subject.
