Bhagonwali was an Indian daily soap opera that aired on Zee TV. The series premiered on 6 December 2010.[1] It is produced by Samidha Khalid's Creative Lab. It tells the story of Runjhun who brings good luck and fortune wherever she goes. However, her own life is riddled with misfortune and hard work because of her circumstances. This show went off air on 17 February 2012, ending with a total of 318 episodes.[2]
Plot
The story is set in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. Runjhun is an orphan, and her role in the house is that of an unpaid servant. She is treated very rudely and selfishly by her uncles and aunts. However, Runjhun remains cheerful, ready to do any work. Runjhun's maternal grandmother tries to shield her from the cunning uncles and aunts after she comes to know that Runjhun is a 'bhagonwali' who can bring good luck and prosperity wherever she goes. However, Runjhun's aunts plot against her and get her married to a local goon Guddu Shukla who agrees to live with them. Runjhun challenges Guddu that she will prove him as a good human being and husband.
Runjhun sees her aunts and uncles suffer and feels bad for them while Guddu tries to tell her they deserved it.However Runjhun feels bad for her mama and mami's so she tries to help them and because of this Guddu tells her to leave the house. Guddu and Runjhun's relation turns for the worse as Nilu (Guddu's ex-girlfriend) returns. Nilu gets Runjhun kidnapped. After while Guddu finds out that Nilu was behind Runjhun's kidnapping. Nilu forces Guddu to get married with him by threatening him with not telling Runjun's whereabouts. Guddu and Nilu get married. Runjhun escapes and try to stop the marriage from happening, but Runjhun gets shot by Jabbu. Nilu takes Guddu to where Runjhun is but Nilu is killed by the person who kidnapped Runjun. The kidnapper goes to jail.
He finds her, but she lost her memory. Her mama and mami tell her she is Juta mata rani. She believes them. Guddu breaks her from her mama and mami houx and takes her home. Guddu tries to make Runjhun regain her memory, but his efforts are futile. Runjhun gets attached to Mahadevi's child and demands to have a child so that she can be a mother just like Mahadevi. Runjhun asks Guddu to marry her but Guddu says no initially, but eventually accepts Runjhun's proposal. When they got married again Runjhun gets her memory back and all her mama and mami happily accept her and love her. All the family got together and Runjhun now really become Bhagonwali.
