Bhaniyana is a census village mostly of the ethnic group, Jat, in the Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan, India.
It is 110 km. to the east of Jaisalmer and 36 km to the south of Pokaran. Bhaniyana has a population of 1,500 families out of which 1,000 families are Jat. The main gotra (clan) of this village is Godara.Prahladani Godara's is famous part of Bhaniyana village in which 1000 Jat Families and Agriculture is the main source of living. Bhaniyana also has a rich political and social history> a rajput royal bika (who was joda's son) begged the riyasat from a godara king.king said there is a condition i can give this riyasat if u get rajyabhishek from my foot thumb.bika agreed and got his rajyabhishek by the foot thumb of king.king left his riyasat and his decenders moved to marwar region,other parts of the rajasthan,panjab,haryana,UP,and MP.still all the decenders of bika get rajyabhishek by a golden foot thumb.the most prestigious family of this village is Prahladani godara.he had 5 sons.some of the family members have a dominant status in society e.g.ranveer singh godara.recently he is uppradhan of panchayat samiti sankra,pokaran;president of rajasthan JAT mahasabha jaisalmer and president of bhartiya kisan union(tikait).
Bhaniyana is the most developed village in Jaisalmer, mainly due to CHOUDHARY KHARTA RAM, who is the only person in India to be a member of panchayati raj from 1959 to the present & Shree Ranveer Singh Godara, Who is Chairman of Bhaniyana Constructions Group and Politician at Panchayti Raj & BJP
BHEEM TALAB (Bheem Pond) is the old source of fresh water in Bhaniyana, and has been the life line of several villages.
