Bifrost Ledge

Bifrost Ledge (77°35′S 162°11′E / 77.583°S 162.183°E / -77.583; 162.183Coordinates: 77°35′S 162°11′E / 77.583°S 162.183°E / -77.583; 162.183) is a flat benchlike feature in Antarctica that rises to 1,750 metres (5,740 ft) on the north side of Mount Holm-Hansen in the Asgard Range, McMurdo Dry Valleys. It was named by the New Zealand Geographic Board in 1998, in association with names from Norse mythology in Asgard Range, Bifröst being a “bridge” linking Asgard (home of the gods) with earth.
