William "Bill" Hudson (born October 17, 1949)[1] is an American musician and actor. He is best known for being in the band The Hudson Brothers.

Early life

Hudson was born in Portland, Oregon,[1] the eldest of three sons (Brett and Mark are his two younger brothers) born to Eleanor (née Salerno). His mother was Italian American (his maternal grandfather came from Carlentini, Province of Syracuse, Sicily, Italy)[2][3][4][5] and his father was of mostly English descent.[6] His father left his family when he was six.[5] He was raised Roman Catholic.[5]

Career

As an actor, Hudson appeared in the film Big Shots (1987) and three episodes of the television series Doogie Howser, M.D. from 1989 to 1992.

Hudson released his memoir, Two Versions: The Other Side of Fame and Family, in December 2011.[7]

Personal life

Hudson married actress Goldie Hawn in 1976 following her divorce from Gus Trikonis They have two children, Oliver and Kate, who were raised by Kurt Russell.[8] Hudson filed for divorce in 1980[9] and it was finalized two years later.

Hudson married Cindy Williams, of Laverne & Shirley fame, in 1982. They had two children, Emily and Zachary Hudson. That marriage also ended in divorce in 2000. He also has a daughter, Lalania Hudson, born in 2006 to a long-term girlfriend.[8]
