"Birmingham" is a song by Canadian pop-rock artist Amanda Marshall. It was released in January 1996 as the second single from her self-titled debut album. The song is her most successful single in Canada, reaching number 3, and her only song to reach the United States Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 43.

Content

The song tells of a woman who is the victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband, Virgil Spencer, while the two resided in the city of Birmingham, Alabama. She plans to leave both Virgil and Birmingham behind. Around three o'clock one morning while Virgil is passed out from a bottle of Jim Beam, she drives away.
