Bishnu Prasad Paudel


Bishnu Prasad Paudel (Nepali: विष्णुप्रसाद पौडेल) is incumbent Finance Minister [1] and a Nepalese politician, belonging to the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist). Paudel is elected member in the C.A. 2013 (Now converted Legislative Parliament) from Rupandehi. Paudel was a Minister for Water Resources in 2009. Before that he served as Minister for Youth, Sports and Culture in 1996. [2] He was elected in the parliament in 1996 from Palpa District. In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election he was elected from the Rupandehi-4 constituency, winning 15880 votes.In the last constituency election held in 2013, he made a remarkable victory against Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, the former Prime Minister of Nepal-pushing him in third place.[3]

Early Life

Bishnu Paudel was born to Devilal Paudel and Devaki Paudel on 20 November 1959 in Syangja District Nepal. He joined politics in 1976. During Panchayat System he made revolt in the jail of Bhairahawa in 1978.[2]
