The Bishop of Llandaff High School (Welsh: Ysgol Uwchradd yr Eglwys yng Nghymru Esgob Llandaf) is a Church in Wales, Christian faith comprehensive school in the Llandaff area of Cardiff, Wales. The school admits both male and female students aged 11 to 18, from Cardiff and surrounding areas such as Vale of Glamorgan, Pontypridd and Bridgend. While the school is supported and partially controlled by the Church in Wales, it includes students from other Christian denominations.
The current Headteacher is Marc Belli, who joined the school on 1 September 2014. Mr Belli was previously headteacher at the Catholic Mary Immaculate High School in Ely, a school was saw dramatic improvements under his leadership. Over the past twelve months, The Bishop of Llandaff has seen a number of changes: students have returned to a traditional uniform of shirt, tie and blazer; the school site has been completely re-decorated and the school has identified the clear goal of becoming the "best school in Wales". It seems these changes are beginning to reap rewards. In August 2015, students and staff at the school recorded record-breaking GCSE and A level results. On 13 August, the school recorded its best sixth form performance with 34% of all grades at A*-A, 61% at A*-B and 85% at A*-C. All students achieved the level 3 threshold (2 or more A levels at A*-E) and performance in English, mathematics and all sciences were particularly strong. The following week, the school celebrated record GCSE outcomes with 97% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades, with 84% of students including English and mathematics. More than a third of all grades were at A*-A. Performances in English, mathematics and all three sciences were very strong at both A*-C and A*-A.
The Marion Centre
The Marion Centre is a specialist resource base at The Bishop of Llandaff for students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). The Centre officially opened in September 2009 and currently supports up to 48 students with ASC from the Cardiff area. The school, with funding from Cardiff Local Authority and Welsh Government built a more permanent building at the cost of £4.8 million in 2012.[1] In addition, to increase opportunities for sport, £1.5million has been spent building a new 3G Astroturf, a new rugby pitch and fitness suite.
