Björn Collinder

Björn Collinder (July 22, 1894 - May 20, 1983) was a Swedish linguist. His name is sometimes spelled "Bjorn Collinder" in English-language contexts.

Collinder was born in Sundsvall, Sweden.

For much of his life he was a professor of Finno-Ugric languages at Uppsala University in Sweden.

He was one of the world's leading experts in the Uralic languages, noted for his Comparative Grammar of the Uralic Languages (1960), which is still often cited today.

He died in Vienna, Austria.
