Blaak Heat (formerly known as Blaak Heat Shujaa) is a French-American psychedelic rock band founded by Thomas Bellier and Antoine Morel-Vulliez in 2008 in Paris while they were both graduate students at Sciences Po.[1] In 2012, the band relocated to Los Angeles, signed to Tee Pee Records, and subsequently hired local drummer Mike Amster.[1] In 2015, Morel-Vulliez was replaced by British bassist Tom Davies (Nebula, The Freeks), who was in turn replaced by longtime Spindrift bass player Henry Evans.[2] Blaak Heat has toured Europe and the United States in support of their first two albums.[3] As of November 2015, Blaak Heat is working on its third full-length album with Grammy Award-winning producer Matt Hyde.[2]
