Black & Blue: The Paul Canoville Story
Black & Blue: The Paul Canoville Story is a 2015 documentary film about the life of Paul Canoville. It was produced by Run Digital Creative and directed by Tony Awor. With contributions from Omid Djalili, Michael Duberry, Eddie Newton, Keith Dublin, Trevor Nelson and Pat Nevin the documentary tells the remarkable life and experience of the first black footballer to play for Chelsea F.C.. The racism he endured by his own fans from the day he made his debut in April 1982, would not only change his life but would change the history of the club. The Film shows how racism, drugs and cancer almost killed him.[1]
The film aired on March 29, 2015 on Sky Sports as a part of their 'Originals' documentary series.[2]
