The black thicket fantail (Rhipidura maculipectus) is a species of bird in the Rhipiduridae family. It is found in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. This species is one of 47 in the genus Rhipidura.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests.
