Blade Arts: Tasogare no Miyako R'lyeh (ブレイドアーツ 〜黄昏の都ルルイエ〜, literally "Blade Arts: Twilight City of R'lyeh") is a Japan-exclusive action-adventure game developed by Ea Co., Ltd. and published by Enix on September 28, 2000 for the PlayStation. It features characters designed by Nobuteru Yūki.

Gameplay

The protagonist attacking an enemy in the dungeons

The gameplay of Blade Arts consists in exploring dungeons, solving puzzles and battling groups of enemies in sword fights.[3] It features 3D graphics and is played from a third-person perspective. The battle system is built around a targeting system similar to the one from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.[2] Different types of swords and spells can be equipped and used.[4]

History

The game was showcased at the Spring 2000 Tokyo Game Show and the 2000 Los Angeles Electronic Entertainment Expo. It was planned for release in North America but was officially cancelled for that region in 2001, with Enix stating that the game "could not be justified with a North American localization".[2][3]
