Blakeney is a village in Gloucestershire, England.[2] It is the largest village in the parish of Awre. It has views of the Forest of Dean.
It was the site of a Roman villa, dating back to AD 75,[2] and was home to Thomas Sternhold, a groom of King Henry VIII's Robes.[2]
The local manor house is Hayes Manor, Viney Hill.[3]
Governance
The parish lies in the Awre electoral ward, which includes the villages of Awre and Blakeney. The total ward population taken at the 2011 census was 1,714.[4]
