Blanks and Postage

Blanks and Postage (often abbreviated B&P) is a method of acquiring recordings, typically live music, by mailing blank CD-Rs or DVD-Rs and a self-addressed stamped envelope to an experienced trader. The trader copies the desired recordings to the discs and mails them back in the envelope, receiving nothing for the service. B&P offers are most frequently found on internet music forums and are usually intended for those who wish to obtain live recordings but have few of their own to trade. The increased use of broadband and peer-to-peer file sharing applications such as BitTorrent has made B&P transactions less common, but many continue to take place, especially among users of dial-up internet. On the other hand, there are still many rare recordings and bootlegs that can't be found on the internet and are in high demand by collectors.
