"Bleed American" is the first track on Jimmy Eat World's album Bleed American (retitled Jimmy Eat World). It was featured in the film National Lampoon's Van Wilder, the game Guitar Hero 5 and was released as downloadable content for Rock Band. The song was originally titled "Bleed American", but similar to the name change of the album after the September 11 attacks, the song was retitled "Salt Sweat Sugar" after the first line in the song's chorus.
