Boalkhali Municipality

Boalkhali Municipality is in Boalkhali Upazila which is part of Chittagong District, Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. This village is close to Chittagong.[1]

History

Boalkhali thana was established on August 29, 1910. Historians assume the name comes from the name of the Islamic Scholar and introducer of Islam in greater Chittagong, Hazarat Boali Kandahar Shar (R:). The main link of Bolkhali upazila with Chittagong is the Khalurghat Bridge, which has undivided relation with Shadin Bangla Betar Kendro (Independent Bangla Radio Centre).

Administrative area

Boalkhali Municipality was formed from nine wards in 2012. It is located in the whole Former East Gondandi Union, West Gomdandi unit 1 to 6 and Khadurkhil unit 1 to 3 from Union Parishod.
