Bob Reitemeier

Bob Reitemeier (born in Rochester, Minnesota, USA) is the Chief Executive of I CAN, a post he took up in January 2016.

He was previously Chief Executive of Essex Community Foundation between 2012 and 2015 and The Children’s Society between 2002 and 2011. At The Children's Society, Reitemeier commissioned and oversaw The Good Childhood Inquiry — the first independent inquiry to examine the issues surrounding childhood today. The report was published on in February 2009 by Penguin.

Reitemeier was a member of the Youth Justice Board between 2006 and 2015, having been appointed by the Home Secretary of the time (John Reid) in 2006.

He has served on many national boards, including as Chair of the National Children and Young People's Workforce Partnership of the Department of Education, Deputy Chair of the Social Work Task Force — a joint unit across the Department for Health and the Department for Children, Schools and Families, and Chair of Children England.
