Bonthu Rammohan (Born 5 June 1973)[1] is an Indian politician from Telangana and current Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.[2] He belongs to Telangana Rashtra Samithi.[3]

RamMohan has become the First Mayor of the Hyderabad City after the formation of Telangana state.[4]

Early life

Rammohan was born in Neredu village, Warangal district to Venkatayya and Kamalammma and has two sisters.

Education and Student politics

He completed primary education at Amangal of Mahabubabad and high school was at Mahabubabad. He did his intermediate from SSC Junior College in Mahabubabad. Rammohan did his graduation Adarsh College at Warangal and later shifted to Osmania University in Hyderabad.

As a student of Osmania University, he was very active in student politics. He was an ABVP leader during his University days and was quite active in the organisation.[5]

Political career

His political entry was started in 2002, Just after TRS party was born with an agenda to achieve Separate statehood he left ABVP to join TRS and participated actively in the agitation. He was then made TRS youth wing state president by party chief KCR.

In GHMC elections he successfully contested as Corporator from Cherlapally Division and occupied the GHMC Mayor seat.

Personal life

He got married in 2004 to Sridevi and has two daughters Bonthu Kujitha and Bonthu Ushasri.
