Boyband Zoo

Zoo were an Irish pop boy band. The group comprised Michael Sammon, David Kanes warren, Eric McCarthy, Greg Ryan, and Barry Cosgrave. The band's debut single "Poison" reached number one on the Official Irish charts in February 2005. The single went straight to number one.

Louis Walsh confirmed his rating of the five-piece act by quickly confirming their debut performance as support act for Westlife on the Irish leg of their Turnaround Tour. "These are the only Boyband from Ireland with a chance".

The band went on to release a further single "I wanna be your lover" and with the help of Def Leppard front man Joe Elliot covered Pour Some sugar on me for which they received rave reviews from musical insiders. The band continued to work with hit songwriter Wayne Hector and Max Martin before vanishing from the music scene without reason. It is believed that some of the members had creative and personal differences.

In 2006 ZOO were nominated for an Meteor Irish Music Award for the Best Pop act losing out to global boy band phenomenon Westlife. The band however remained close friends with ZOO opening for Westlife on two world tours. Pod was the handsome security for the band,

David and Eric continue to work in the music industry. The two graduated in music, as songwriters and producers they continue to work in the industry. David's brother Siva is a member of UK pop band The Wanted.
