Brainstorm is the first extended play and second major release by Mitchel Musso. It was released on November 22, 2010 by 717 Records.

Background

Musso has co-written and co-produced all 8 tracks on the disc. He's worked with his brother Mason Musso (ex-Metro Station), his father Sam Musso, Bryan Todd and other American producers. For his second album, Mitchel signed with an independent label, 717 Records.

In an interview Mitchel declared: "It's difficult to choose my favorite song in this album. I am very connected to all the songs, also because I have written all of them. But [if i had to choose], I'd choose "Come Back My Love", he says". "Come Back My Love" is the seventh and penultimate track of the EP, and it comes from an old demo his brother Mason recorded, called "You're from Above".

The songs "Celebrate" and "Open The Door" were already performed at some live shows during 2010's summer and in some TV shows. "Celebrate" also entered Radio Disney's chart. Some seconds to Get Away were already audible on Amazon weeks before the release of the EP and the video of the song itself. On the other hand, "You Got Me Hooked" was freely downloadable from Mitchel's official website after registration. Some parts of the song "Empty" had already been made known through a video of the song's recording, published on Bryan Todd's YouTube channel.
