Brandon Wong (born November 30, 1986) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with the Indy Fuel of the ECHL.

Playing career

Brandon Wong played began his junior hockey career in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), skating with the Surrey Eagles, Powell River Kings and Merritt Centennials from 2003 to 2006. While with the Centennials, Wong earned the BCHL's 2006 Brett Hull Trophy, awarded to the player who scores the most points during the regular season.[1] Wong was also named the BCHL Interior Conference Most Valuable Player for the 2005–06 season.[2]

Wong played collegiate hockey at Quinnipiac University for four years. His freshman year, he was named ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year[3][4][5] and was runner-up for National Rookie of the Year. Wong was also named to the ECAC Third Team, received the New England Hockey Writers' George Carens Award for the top freshman in the region, was an Inside College Hockey Freshman All-American and was selected to the USCHO All-Rookie Team for the 2006–07 season.[6] He was selected as a Hobey Baker Award candidate for the 2009–10 season.[7]

Following the conclusion of his senior season at Quinnipiac University, Wong signed an amateur tryout agreement with the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins in March 2010.[8] He skated with the Griffins for three games prior to signing with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.[9] He was loaned to the Whale's ECHL affiliate Greenville Road Warriors on November 9, 2010.[10]

Wong skated in 64 games with the Road Warriors during their inaugural season, netting 46 points in 21 goals and 25 assists during regular season play. He also skated in 10 playoff games, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 combined points. Wong scored the club's first-ever hat trick in an 8–6 loss to the Gwinnett Gladiators on January 14, 2011. He re-signed with the Road Warriors for the 2011–12 season on August 15, 2011.[11] After re-signing with the Road Warriors for the 2012–13 season, Wong was named an Alternate Captain on October 19, 2012.[12]

On June 25, 2013, it was announced that Wong was relocating to Sweden to play the 2013-14 season with Mörrums GoIS IK.[13]

On February 8th, 2016 Wong was traded to the Indy Fuel from the Tulsa Oilers. [14]
