Brandywine Airport (IATA: OQN[2], ICAO: KOQN, FAA LID: OQN) is a public-use airport in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania,[3] three miles northeast of West Chester. It is privately owned by the New Brandywine Airport Club Inc.[1]
Facilities
Brandywine Airport covers 44 acres (18 ha) at an elevation of 466 feet (142 m). Its one runway, 9/27, is 3,347 by 50 feet (1,020 x 15 m) asphalt.[1]
In the year ending July 28, 2009 the airport had 60,065 aircraft operations, average 164 per day: 98% general aviation and 2% air taxi. 113 aircraft were then based at the airport: 86% single-engine, 8% multi-engine, 1% jet and 5% helicopter.[1]
Maintenance is provided by Penn Avionics and Flight Dynamics. Liberty Aviation provides both helicopter instruction and charters for sightseeing and aerial photography, and TAS Inc. provides fixed-wing instruction and charter. AirShares, a Cirrus fractional ownership company, is on the field. Across from the terminal is the American Helicopter Museum, the nation’s premier aviation museum devoted to helicopters.
