Brangas (mythology)

This article is about the mythological figure. For the butterfly genus, see Brangas.

In Greek mythology, Brangas was a son of the Thracian king Strymon, as well as the brother of Rhesus and Olynthus. When the last of these three brothers had been killed during the chase by a lion, Brangas buried him on the spot where he had fallen, and called the town which he subsequently built there Olynthus.[1]
