The Brea Police Department is a city agency that serves as the law enforcement for the Southern California city of Brea. The Current Police Chief is Jack Conklin[1] The Department is broken down into eight units. They include the Commanders, Uniform Division, Traffic Unit, Investigative Services Division, K-9 Unit, a S.W.A.T. Unit, Threat Management Unit, & a Police Professional Standards.[2]

Contract to Yorba Linda

For 42 years the Brea Police Department contracted to provide Police Services to the Neighboring city of Yorba Linda In April 2011, the Yorba Linda city council voted to discontinue services from Brea Police and entered into a five-year contract with the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Services with Brea Police ended at midnight on January 5, 2013 with the Sheriff's department immediately taking over.[3][4]

Fallen officers

In the history of the Brea Police Department, two officers died while on duty.[5]
