Commissioner Brian Peddle is currently serving as the 26th Chief of the Staff of The Salvation Army based in Great Britain. He has been serving under the appointment of General Andre Cox, which began on 1 November 2015. Commissioner Peddle is the second Chief of the Staff to have born in Canada; General Bramwell Tillsley was the first.[1] The Chief of the Staff is appointed by the General to be second-in-command of the international Salvation Army.

Commissioner Peddle and his wife Commissioner Rosalie Peddle were commissioned in the mid-1970s as Salvation Army officers.[1][2] Since then, Commissioner Peddle has held several appointments, including service as the divisional leader in New Zealand and as chief secretary women's ministries in the UK. He led their home territory (Canada and Bermuda)for a little over three years until his present appointment as Chief of the Staff.[1]
